Will I get a Certificate of Conformity for EASA purposes?

We will supply a suitable EASA Form 1 with all materials or parts supplied by SVSP for Glider maintenance. There is no additional charge for this. Please keep this with your glider maintenance records.

Why are some items Courier Only?

Where an item has a UN number and is classed as a Dangerous Substance we have no option other than to ship with approved couriers. We have choose to use TNT for this service based on the excellent service they provide. This service does not come cheap and so those items have been identified and if chosen will automatically restrict your shipping options to that of courier or collection. While it may be true that for many years we chose to be pragmatic in this respect a final warning letter and the threat of court action has forced us to stop shipping these material in any other way.

Do I need a PayPal account to pay for my goods?

You do not need a PayPal account to check out with PayPal.

We have chosen PayPal as our payment systems provider so that they handle all secure information on our behalf. This means that your credit card details are not stored on any Severn Valley Sailplanes system. If you do not have a PayPal account simply select the option "Don't Have a Paypal Account" on the PayPal payment screen and you can enter your credit/debit card details securely on the PayPal system.

Do you ship outside the European Union & what are the charges?

We supply to major gliding countries outside of the EU, including Australia, New Zealand and North America. However shipping costs vary widely, so the on-line shop does not try and calculate shipping charges. We ask you to pay a deposit (currently £30.00 + VAT if applicable) and we will refund the difference once we know the actual shipping cost (including packaging). If your address is outside the UK or Western Europe you should be presented with this option at checkout.

Unfortunately Gel Coat and other materials such as resins, hardneners, paints and adhesives (as well as some other items) are classifed as "hazerdous materials" and cannot be sent outside the UK without using special couriers which are not economical. Therefore we can only supply these materials for collection or delivery within the UK.

My Country does not appear on the list of countries when I try and enter my address?

While we supply to major gliding countries outside of the EU, including Australia, New Zealand and North America, we do limited regular business outside this set. Please e-mail us; we may either be able to add your country to the website or supply you on a one-off basis.

What does the order status mean?

We use the different order status indicators to show what is happening to your order, note that not all status indicators will be used - it depends on how we progress the order. The full order "flow" is:

  • Recieved We have successfully received your order and it is being processed by our staff.
  • Paid We have successfully received your order and payment, the order is being processed by our staff.
  • In Progress We are working on your order; In some cases we may need to custom build the parts ordered, or sometimes one or more of the components ordered are out of stock or require direct order from the manufacturer.
  • Part Shipped One or more of the components ordered are out of stock or require direct order from the manufacturer, we have shipped those parts that are available ex-stock and will send the remainder of the order to you when it becomes available.
  • Shipped Your order has been dispatched by the selected delivery method is en-route to you.

We may occasionally get delays or problems with your order, we will normally contact you if any of these occur, and you may see order status such as:

  • Not Finished Your on-line payment transaction is still in progress (it has neither succeeded nor failed). If this condition persists please contact us to resolve.
  • Failed There was a problem in processing your order or your on-line payment. Please contact us to resolve.
  • Declined Your order has been cancelled (possibly at your request). If this is unexpected please contact us to resolve.

Can I have materials like Gel Coat delivered to Europe or elsewhere?

I am local to Gloucestershire, can I collect in person?

We will be very happy to see you at our premises at Arlingham. Please select the appropriate option on your order and give us a call before you come down to check we have what you require ready for collection.

Can you do instrument installation or custom wiring?

We have a well equipped workshop and would be happy to quote for any work required. We can also make up a custom wiring harness to interconnect your instruments, PDA, Logger(s) and GPS; please call us to discuss.
